The Challenge

As Australia’s largest B2B office suppliers, Office Choice is proud to support local business, with an extensive network of franchisees spanning across the nation. However, this was proving a challenge for their back-end operations: each franchisee had their own Magento store, with Office Choice’s Pronto PIM & ERP subdivided into dozens of environments; one for each franchisee. As the complexity grew, difficulties were merging in managing operations with an propriety Commerce Vision which was to be replaced for new and existing franchises for a open-source e-commerce system offers greater flexibility. MyIntegrator was asked to consolidate this system with a complete integration, so that all possible Pronto fields automatically sync data with Magento, and consistency is enforced. What’s more, this integration had to cover all their franchisees!

The Solution

Building Office Choice’s integration took all of our integration skills, as well as our knowledge of Pronto and Magento. We set out to produce a universal integration that was as lightweight and scalable as possible, so that unique instances could run for each franchisee, with the ability to add/remove new ones on the fly. Furthermore, the integration had to be complete and feature-rich: complete so that all Pronto data is sent to Magento, and feature-rich so that minimal manual interaction is required and indeed most business operations on the franchisee’s end can be handled through Magento. So for instance if an Office Choice product’s stockcode is updated globally, that update automatically copies across to all franchisee stores. The final task was to produce extensive documentation and provide on-demand support, to make it easy to onboard new stores and to make the integration as understandable and accessible as possible.

And That’s IT!

Office Choice proved to be one of our largest and most successful integrations, growing to accomodate over 50 franchisee systems. Its scope was expanded to accomodate an integration of multi-location inventories, customer accounts, payments and invoices, with 1000’s of syncs running each day. This integration is slated to be sunset in 2023, when Office Choice transitions away from Magento.
